As someone with acne-prone skin, I’m always mixing up creative concoctions from nature that might soothe and illuminate my complexion. I’ve tried coconut oil which egregiously clogged my pores, charcoal which dried me out like the Sahara, and avocado which felt good but honestly didn’t make a huge difference. 

Enter the plum and cinnamon face mask. The vitamin C and antioxidants present in plums help keep the skin radiant and glowing, while cinnamon’s antifungal, antioxidant and antibacterial properties makes it useful for guarding against acne/blemishes. Read on to make your own magick DIY plum cinnamon face mask at home!

Plum Cinnamon Face Mask 

Ingredients 

3-4 Plums 

½ tablespoon of avocado oil or sweet almond or jojoba 

½ tablespoon of honey 

Dash of cinnamon 

Directions 

Add plums to a pan of water, bring to a boil over high heat, cook until soft 

Strain plums 

Transfer to a bowl and let cool – once cool remove skin and pits and add the flesh to a blender 

Add oil, honey cinnamon and puree well 

To use apply the mask with your fingertips in a gentle circular motion, leave on for 15-20 min then rinse and pat dry follow

Benefits 

Rich in antioxidants, helps prevent skin from damaging UV rays and hydrates while also absorbing excess oil
